About the studio
A small group, working slowly, on small things.
I-Link Solutions is a small mobile studio. We work on a narrow set of utility categories on iOS and Android — cleaners, scanners, converters, privacy tools, the occasional VPN. We don't take on every kind of app. The scope of what we know how to ship well is the scope of what we ship.
We're distributed and asynchronous. The team is small enough that everyone touches the work end to end — research, design, code, release. There's no separate “production” layer between someone caring about a problem and the user feeling the result.
Most of what we build is intentionally narrow. A cleaner that does one kind of cleanup well. A scanner that doesn't pretend to be a converter. A converter that doesn't pretend to be a cloud platform. We'd rather ship a handful of small things that work than a single thing that tries to be all of them.
Working principles
A few things we've learned to hold to.
Narrow before deep
It's easier to make a small thing work than a big thing work. We pick narrow problems on purpose, and only widen scope when the narrow version has earned it.
Defaults matter more than settings
Most users never open a settings screen. The default behaviour of an app is the only behaviour that matters at scale. We spend more time on defaults than on options.
Quiet over loud
We avoid theatrical animations, dramatic numbers, and confetti. The small daily utilities that earn their place on a phone do so by getting out of the way.
Asynchronous by default
Work happens in writing, on its own schedule. Meetings are the exception. The team is distributed and the workday isn't a single block of hours.
